Abstract
OBJECTIVE: • To come up with good forecast model for Wind Power Generation for hour and day ahead . • As NZ is looking at increasing the share of wind power from 5% towards 20%. • The increase towards 20% will cause problems for grid and electricity market, due to its variable nature. • Good forecasting model is very important to address above issues and enable to operate more efficiently [17]. • The prices for electricity also depend on the wind power share, as forecasted wind power will be major factor. • Help to reduce the use of hydro power and keep water for use when there is no wind [11]
