Abstract
The Unstable City engages with questions of Auckland’s architectural heritage and draws attention to the potential widespread loss of buildings. The immediate prompt for the publication was the series of devastating earthquakes in Christchurch New Zealand during 2010 and 2011. Auckland’s seismic vulnerability and burgeoning growth projections specifically threaten older buildings. This project champions their value and signals their precarious status.
