Abstract
Part 1: Keynote presentation by Kerry Francis (architectural educator and architect), recalling the events of and around the 1971 Congress in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland
This event serves as an introduction to the Australasian Student Architecture Congress (ASAC) event which is taking place in December 2026, titled ‘Weaving.’ By looking back to the history of Congress in New Zealand, this event hopes to inspire and inform future collective student organising. This is the second iteration of a format first presented by ASAC at the Australian Institute of Architects Conference in Sydney earlier this year.
