Abstract
This research intends to identify the differences between different groups of people in terms of their attitudes and self-reported behaviours, background, nationality, age, religion, and gender. The value add of this research is that this is a longitudinal study and perceptions of students over a six year period could be compared. A total of 260 questionnaires were distributed to under- and postgraduate students studying business at the institute; 224 usable questionnaires returned resulting in a 86.7% response rate. Only six closely related questions were used in this paper.
The main research question is:
What can you as international student do to preserve the environment in New Zealand?
Six sub-research questions were also asked in the questionnaire. Owners, CEOs and Managers of these private tertiary institutions should take note of this study. They could take the lead as it should go further to all universities in New Zealand to help to preserve the environment.
