Abstract

CONCLUSION • Portable VNA is an affordable microwave measurement device • High dynamic range, good accuracy and vector measurements allow simultaneous testing of multiple object parameters • Frequency range limited but still offering a generous range up to 8GHz • E cal calibration kit offers a solution for systematic error removal and improved accuracy. Affordable solutions offered by PICO • Calibration still a slow process and additional options considered to reduce a need for a frequent re-calibration • Data format allows further error corrective actions, including smoothing, TRL calibration and response calibration, as well as signal processing and further calculations required for material microwave sensing
