RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
How do we reconcile the aspirations of communities involved in ecological restoration projects with measures and expectations of restoration success identified by ecological science or ‘governing’ stakeholders?
What is the role of Mātauranga Māori (Māori world view, perspectives and cultural practices) with respect to ecological restoration?
• what taonga (valued resources) are being restored, or enhanced, through the restoration activity?
• what benefits are expected as a result of the restoration activity?
• what indicators identify the success of the restoration activity?
