    Abstract
    目前所见的中外关于“贝多芬在中国”的研究,毫无例外地都以李叔同1906年在《音 乐小杂志》刊登的贝多芬炭画像和他三百余字的《比杜芬传》为始。事实上,早在上海开埠之初, 上海租界的西侨乐人已有演奏贝多芬弦乐三重奏之史实。到1870年代,不仅贝多芬的各类室内 乐作品已在沪租界的音乐会上和沙龙中频繁上演,他的交响乐、序曲、钢琴奏鸣曲、小提琴协奏曲 等也不时被来华巡演的西洋乐人和寓居上海的西侨演奏。本文以19世纪最后20年贝多芬音乐 在上海西人音乐生活中的呈现为焦点,以编年的方式追溯贝多芬各类作品在晚清中国的演奏史。
