What role does the church have in promoting the SDGs? This presentation will use the case study of The Community of St Luke, a local church attended by the presenters and explore the way it promotes SD Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. The church has often been accused of being part of the problem but we will explore the ways in which it promotes peace, inclusivity, and social justice. It does this through being an inclusive community; running programmes on progressive theology, interfaith development and restorative justice; and taking action on issues such as sexuality and gender injustice. We will also explore an emerging commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.en_NZ
