This projects positions itself within the general concept of the Auckland City Council Unitary Plan. According to the testimony, “we want Aucklanders to play their part, to help ensure the Unitary Plan protects what makes our city special, while delivering opportunities for growth.” It develops an approach to deal with one of the neglected heritage buildings in Auckland through thoughtful introduction of new functions and integration of the building back into community. This creates an opportunity for us to research and promote ways to protect the building, that is of a great importance to the residents of Auckland by preservation through reuse.
