This paper explores the results of a survey which asks a range of newly enrolled NZDipBus students at UNITEC why they elected to study the New Zealand Diploma in Business in 1999. This paper compares the reasons of full time and part time students. It will also briefly explore the level of monetary support offered to part time students by their employers. As many NZDipBus providers have articulation arrangements with universities, it is helpful to know how important these arrangements are to current students. The literature records the value of the NZDipBus to employers and students as well as retention issues.en_NZ
